Subject: WSJ article on Tax Panel, Oct.12

Comment: Dear Tax Panel,

I read today's article in the Wall Street Journal, page B2, titled "Bush Tax Panel Targets Mortgages".

I was surprised to read in paragraph 4 that the panel feels that a national retail sales tax are too complicated to put into practice. Please acknowledge whether the entire pane has read the book The Fair Tax. If I do not get a response from you I will take it that you have not. I encourage you to read it.

Personally, I am tired of the segment of our society that do not pay their fair share of taxes. These are the criminals and illegals who would still not pay any taxes under a Flat tax....because they do not file tax returns. The reason for the proliferation in new "stated income" and no income verification" mortgage loan products offered by Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and others are because people hide their income.

A national sales tax is the only way to get these people to pay their fair share. Eliminating the IRS and having the "inclusive' national sales tax collected by state comptrollers (who are already collecting state sales taxes) is a bonus.

Just my opinion. However, everyone of my colleagues who first favored a flat tax have switched to favoring the national sales tax after being educated by the The Fair Tax book. Hopefully you will be too.

Thank you.
