Subject: What a waste!

Comment: It looks like the panel is going to weenie out and propose a timid, tinkering-around-the-edges approach to "reform" of our abominable tax code. What a waste of time and money! The panel has caved in to the beltway buzzards by discarding true reform like the FairTax. The FairTax meets all of President Bush's criteria for acceptable reform -- it is simple, fair, supportive of economic vitality and growth, and revenue neutral.
The panel is apparently concerned that implementation of the FairTax might pose some tough challenges. Well, so did the wrenching, revolutionary restructuring of American industry over the past two decades, but CEOs and boards did not shrink from the challenge. Sadly, the tax reform panel has taken the cowards way out. But, it would be a mistake to think the FairTax is going away. What is at stake is too important let that happen.
