Subject: National Sales Tax

Comment: I would like to write in support of a National Sales Tax as opposed to federal income tax. It is my belief that income taxes, with sliding scales for income, are inehently complex and, easily cheated. I live in Miami Florida and see many people living beyond their means, I can only conclude they're not paying income taxes or, they've figured out a way to cheat the system. In a sales tax environment, you're taxed on what you spend. What better way to put cash back into American's pockets by not taking it from them in the first place. We would see investments rise and, crucial savings rise, which does not occur now. It stands to reason the richer you are, the more you spend, therefore the more sales tax you pay. What's fairer than that? If you can afford a Rolex or, a Cadilac then you can afford more taxes. It's not a luxury tax because it applies to everything. We have society that has little or no savings, this means people are living pay check to pay check. Who can afford to save when, in my case, 40% of my income goes to government. Go to a sales tax. End cheating on income taxes. There is no way to cheat sales tax.
