Subject: National Sales Tax

Comment: I believe that everyone should pay at the same rate. A national sales tax would require that a person pay a percentage of tax based on the amount of disposable income.
A person with more wealth has much more disposable income and therefore when he spends that money on consumer goods or other elective purchases, he will pay the same percentage as a person on a fixed income.
I believe thal all deductibles should be eliminated. A person of little wealth does not have the resources to hire a professional tax accountant to find loopholes to avoid paying tax.
Think of the savings that could be made in the collection of the income tax. How much tax goes uncollected each year?
With the implementation of a national sales tax, the recipient of funds for the purchase of goods or services would have the responsibility to remit the tax to the U. S. Treasury. State and local sales taxes could possibly be eliminated if a percentage was paid back to the State in the same manner the Fuel Tax is distributed.

Thank You.
