Subject: tax reform Comment: My name is Don N Wrinkle. I am 29 years old, married, own a home, and my household income is less than 50K. My wife and I have discussed the issue of tax reform and the ridiculous state of the IRS. We both have recently tried to file the IRS 1099 for self employed persons. I cannot express enough the level of discontent that we have for the current system. It is beyond repair or adjustment- it's simply garbage. My wife and I watched the meeting of this panel on television. We were not able to find any benefit whatsoever, to anyone, from the discussion that took place. This is unacceptable. Furthermore, the lack of attention to the "Fair Tax", to which most of our family and friends are supporters, or the "Flat tax" is downright unpatriotic. The job of this panel, clearly outlined in this website, given to the panel from the President, was completely ignored. In no way did the panel put the welfare of any American citizen, rich, poor, or otherwise first. All ideas should be considered, INCLUDING but not limited to, the "Fair Tax". If you want to throw ideas out because they simply don’t work- start with the current ridiculous tax system and the Internal revenue service- whose employees don’t even understand the tax system. This panel’s failure to discuss REAL ideas with a real plan (FAIR TAX) is a blatant disregard to its civic duties, its president, and the American people.
