Subject: flat tax Comment: I feel that a flat tax - with no allowable deductions - would be the fairest tax for everybody including businesses. I own the stock in a "C" corporation and would be willing to pay a flat tax if I knew that every other business had too also. Deductions are implemented by special interest groups and most of us cannot benefit from them. Lower income people should have a lower tax rate, but earned income tax credits should be thrown out completely!!!!! This earned income credit system is simply a Federal redistribution of wealth with no legitimate basis. The present system discourages income growth and reinvestment and the only people making any money off it are the tax attorneys. |
