Subject: Alernative Minimum TAX Comment: I have read news reports about what your commission is considering. I would like the commission to look at indexing the alterative minimum tax rather than abolishing it. The problem with the tax is that it has consumed middle income tax payers who were not the ones who were thought to be evading taxes when the idea was conceived. I recommend adjusting the tax to reflect the inflation since it was adopted. That way there will not be as great a reduction of revenues that have to be obtained elsewhere.
