Comment: The AutomaticTax proposal is just another direct tax on labor, subject to the whims of government. 5% today. 10% six months from now, 15% a year from now... [Para 112, 113, etc] No thank you! Any tax which is a direct unapportioned tax on labor is no better than what we already have. It leaves doors open for manipulation by government, special interest and the like. I like the FairTax proposal for one simple reason. I and I alone decide the amount of my tax contribution through my spending habits. I pay lower taxes by spendng less and higher taxes by spending more. Best of all - no taxes should I choose not to buy anything for a month or two. We need a system that keeps government out of our pockets until We The People say it's okay for them to have some. The Fairtax does that. |
