Subject: Tax Reform

Comment: I heard that you're going to recommend replacing the AMT with lower mortgage interest deductions and lower deductions for businesses that provide health care.

Your mission was to come up with a fairer, less intrusive, lower-cost-to-comply tax code. You have failed miserably and should be immediately disbanded. Your plan will increase compliance costs and not solve any problems with the tax system.

The only meaningful tax reform is the FairTax. It's fair; it saves a half a trillion dollars per year of compliance costs. It gets rid of the intrusive IRS. It saves millions of man-hours preparing forms. It's the only tax reform plan that would turn the US into a worldwide tax haven. It's the only tax reform plan that would get rid of Social Security's triple taxation, along with its regressive payroll and self-employment tax. By the way, the FairTax would ALSO abolish the AMT.

Sincerely,

Charles R. Azer
