Subject: Please don't give us a consumption tax *AND* income tax Comment: I'm all for a consumption tax as long as it is progressive in nature and completely eliminates the income taxes and other taxes that force businesses to move work abroad. Having both types of taxes would just make an intolerable situation that much worse. Also, I think we should consider a spartan government paid for National Health Care and Perscription Drug insurance, combined with tort reform outlawing all lawsuits against healthcare providers, as well as drug pricing limitations (like Canada) to prevent gouging by the drug cos., and build the cost of covering everyone into the consumption tax. This would be a system like Canada or Britian. |
