Subject: Consumption Tax

Comment: The best alternative to the present tax system is a tax on consumption. That would mean no more income tax, corporate tax, or inheritance tax. There would be no avoiding this tax. Everyone would pay it. If the President wants the deduction for interest on housing left alone, just don't tax it. If the President wants the deduction for charitable contributions left alone, just don't tax them.

In order for this to work the amendment that put the present tax system into existance would have to be repealed.

I have supported this method of tax reform for many years and I still believe that it is the best way to accomplish this goal.

Sincerely,
