Subject: Tax Reform Suggestion

Comment: I am strongly in favor of tax reform. However, not simply something that increases the complexity of the existing tax structure.
Please consider a flat income tax or a national sales tax, and dispense with the current income tax system all together. The government could save the most money by collecting a national sales tax and getting rid of the income tax. It would also save billions if you just simplified the current income tax and made it a flat tax with set deductible levels of income which in effect makes the tax a sliding scale. These kind of tax structures would dramatically reduce the number of man-hours needed to monitor and enforce the current highly complex system. In addition they would be much more fair.

Thanks,
Paul
