Subject: Health Benefit Tax Comment: As the human resources manager for our organization, the management team and I face an on-going struggle to balance the well being of our staff with the financial health of our business. Adding a tax to medical benefits, one of the most basic human needs, could be catastrophic. This plan would likely backfire and result in a significant number of employers discontinuing their healthcare offerings altogether. This would further result in more employees relying on federal and state government plans or expensive emergency room coverage instead of employer sponsored plans. I urge you not to support this proposal. |
