Subject: The Fair Tax

Comment: The FairTax, H.R. 25, is the only viable replacement solution to the current failed income tax system that I see on the table. It would unleash productivity and according to the economic reports, I've read and comments from Speaker Denny Hastert, would double the U.S. economy withing 15 years. America would become a giant Caymen Island for business. The only place where business as usual would not occur would be in Washington, D.C. whereby 53 percent of the lobbying is now done to curry tax favors with politicians redistributing the wealth to buy political votes. This abuse of power will practically cease under the FairTax and we can then restore our Founders vision of a system of government that would be for the people, by the people and of the people. When we gave up our sovereignty over our income and allowed government the power to plunder, we truly changed the dynamic created by our founders whereby government had limited power. As Dr. Frank Chodorov, the noted New York Professor quipped, "The Income Tax IS the Root of All Evil," especially for a so called free society of self government individuals. Obviously, there are many sound reasons for dumping the income tax and going to a system of indirect taxation. I do hope the panel sees the wisdom of our historical error of adopting Karl Marx's progressive income tax in 1913.
