Subject: Tax Reform Comment: I think a VAT (Value Added Tax) would be preferable to the present Income Tax. It seems to me that people who spend money are the ones who should support the tax structure. The present Income Tax is so complicated, unfair and clumsy that ordinary citizens require professional help to figure the taxes. The accountants who do this would be put to more productive pursuits and the resulting increase in productivity would go a long way toward paying the tax. R.B.Fraser |
