Subject: Tax Reform Comment: I can't believe all the hype that is trying to be centered around tax reform and how it will help the average american. What a joke. I own a CPA firm and our average 1040 fee is $110. We keep hearing about all of the compliance and cost associated with the tax system but I just don't see this at the individual level. Do it yourself software is extemely cheap and now we have the free-file on the IRS website. If there weren't so many humongous loopholes for the big corporations that get around not paying their fair share of the tax, the american population would be much more satisfied seeing their rates continue to drop. The problem does not lie in complexity at the individual level. It rests at the corporate level with all of the loopholes and nothing ever changing to correct these. A new system will just create new problems. Fix the current ones. |
