Subject: TAXING HEALTH BENEFITS

Comment: I am totaly opposed to taxing employer health benefits as a way of redeeming taxes not received through the Alternative Minimum Tax. I have seen people choose not to take health benefits provided because they cannot afford them due to paying for other living expenses with their low wages. What is wrong with the Alternative Minimum Tax is that it is not taxing the right people - it is taxing the working man/woman who struggled to provide for their family. Leave employer benefits alone and go after those whose wages exceed 150,000 annually. The drain on social security is because there is a cap on the wages taxed. Tax all wages earned for SS - just like Medicare - and we won't be in the mess we are. I am tired of being taxed to death on my wage, asked to pay more for gas to get to work, asked to pay more for the food I need to eat to live, asked to pay more for the medicine I need to stay well, asked to pay more for the roof over my head - and don't have anything left over for anything else. Raises don't cover half of the increases in my living expenses, so stop taxing me.
