Subject: A fairer tax system

Comment: The fairest system would be a flat rate. But, such a system is politically impossible.

The next best system would be one in which all income is counted. No exceptions, and no deductions or exemptions. It could still be progressive, but getting rid of various rates for various types of income, and eliminating deductions and exemptions would make the system extremely simple. Millions of dollars and lots of time could be saved. If every dollar counted, it would be fair to all, and continued pregressivity would protect the lower incomes.

There have to be better ways of promoting desired activity than using the tax code.
Doing that has created a monster!
