Subject: I support S/H.R.25 - The FairTax Comment: To Whom This May Concern, Since the tax reform panel is requesting comments from us, I feel compelled to inform you that I support the removal of the income tax and federal payroll withholding taxes. I would much rather see it replaced with a consumption tax. For several years I have been a member of the Americans for Fair Taxation. During this time, I have thrown my support behind such legislation as S/H.R.25. There are many benefits to be gained from lifting the burden of an oppressive tax system from the shoulders of the American worker. Take away the punishment from being successful and watch our economy grow. Such a reform would be difficult, but please don't bow down to the special interest groups that would fight such a fair and simple tax system in favor of their current benefits they wish to maintain in the todays complex tax code.
