Subject: Fair Tax Act a great idea.

Comment: Dear Senator Mack, Chairman.
Advisory Panel on Federal Tax Reform

The FAIR TAX Act (HR 25 and S25), much like freedom and liberty in 1776, is truly a great idea that must be implemented.

The fact that no other political entity around the world has yet embraced the concept of a FAIR TAX today is not dissimilar to the fact that until the 18th Century none other had the courage nor foresight to embrace liberty and freedom.

Like the FAIR Tax Act, the famous Boston Tea Party had no precedence anywhere in cowardly Europe. Paul Revere rode not because some other had shown him how, but because he knew what was right and had the courage of his own moral convictions. For the United States to now wait to implement the provisions of the FAIR TAX Act until some other country does so would be akin to George Washington fearfully cowering on the bank of the Potomac waiting for the French to take the first move against the oppressive and over taxing British.

Please, Sir. Let us not further complicate the already evil and indecipherable tax system as administered by the IRS. It is full time to quit taxing and destroying the incentive to earn. Rather, please implement a fully transparent and fair tax against the demands that each of us places on our economy. Only then will economic decisions be made in the true interest of the economy rather than in the interest of beating the system.

May your panel go down in the annals of history alongside the great leaders of the United States and of the world rather than be consigned to the historical scrap pile of Graham/Rudman/Hollings and the myriad other so called revisions of the IRS based Tax Code.

Respectfully,
Blaine W. Nichols
