Comment: I am a resident of the state of Maine and I want to express my overwhelming support for the fair tax proposal that is currently in Congress as HR25/S25. It is very clear to all that the current taxation system in the US is an abomination. It is too complicated, burdensome, capricious, and unfair, as well as confiscatory. The Fair Tax Proposal can remedy all those ills as well as getting rid of a large bureaucracy ie the IRS. This is a win win for everyone except maybe the politicians(mostly liberal Dems) who don't want to give up their power and control. It is what is best for this country, and I hope that this government has the guts to implement it. Several other countries have instituted this type of taxation system with great success, including Russia, and I really can't think of a logical reason that it shouldn't be used here.
