Subject: Taking Taxpayers Seriously Comment: If everyone took this 'FAIRTAX' proposal seriously and told their Congressperson and Senators to vote for it, it would become a reality. Because so many don't even know there is truly a possibility of abolishing the IRS, they aren't letting their politicians know they want it done. I personally met with MD Senator Mikulski to express my desire along with many other Marylanders and I have written to Senator Sarbanes and my Congressman Ruppersberger numerous times to have them take this seriously. None have currently given more than a smile and lip service to the idea or a form letter reply, but that is because more people are not banging on theirs doors. I am 34 years of age and a small business owner. I have been following details about the 'FAIRTAX' since '99, when I read an article in my Finacial Planning Journal. It was interesting then, but the great detail the group has offered makes it believable as a reality today. I am asking you all to take this seriously because it is truly the only 'FAIRTAX' for every single American. |
