Subject: Tax Reform

Comment: I strongly urge you to consider suggesting the adoption of a consumption tax system similar to the Fair Tax. It's time we adopted a tax system which things we buy would be taxed as opposed to how much we make. With a consumption tax, even people who make money illegally would be paying taxes. It would also keep people who are successful from being punished for their success as they are under the present system. The present tax collection system is expensive to run and is not successful. A consumption tax would also eliminate the traditional filling out of form after form at tax time for a citizenry which is ill equipped to understand unless they are lawyers and accountants. Also, if the Social Security contributions were included in the consumption tax system, it would eliminate the charade which most people think is a separate account.

Respectfully yours,
