Subject: I support H.R. 25, a.k.a. "The Fair Tax." Comment: The Fair Tax will: 1. Reduce non-productive effort, which was recently estimated to exceed 6 billion hours per year, to comply and avoid income tax. 2. Reduce the Government's cost of collection and administration. 3. Take the pyramid scheme of tax burden out of our supply chain, lowering retail prices 18% to 23%. 4. Raise revenue from the purchases and the pockets of illegal aliens and foregn visitors, to the benefit of the U.S. Treasury and Social Security. 5. Relieve the poor of a tax burden on necessities through a "prebate." 6. Reduce tax delinquency, and the resulting stress and fear, for millions of self-employed Americans, who will pay their tax at time of purchase. 7. Tax the use of wealth, rather than the generation and sharing of wealth. 8. Eliminate a universally hated, complex and citizen-punishing tax code.
