Subject: $63,000 in AMT Taxes for $12,900 from Stock

Comment: To whom it may concern,
My story is short. Due to the "dot com crash" I was taxed per AMT for approx $63,000 while only gaining $12,900 from the sale of my stock. I do not have hardship that others have; however, I have been thru depression and thru chronic fatigue while working to pay my tax debt. It seems ironic that you cannot sentence a guilty person overly for the crime they have committed yet I can be unfairly taxed while following the law. It has taken 5 years to pay my back taxes. I have followed the law and paid my taxes as an upstanding citizen of the U.S.A. with the true cost being the postponement of starting a family; who would want to bring a child into the world while being in so heavily in debt? I beg our leaders to repeal the AMT law. I have always and will always pay my taxes if they are fair. The AMT tax law is simply not fair. Thank you for your understanding.
