Subject: Federal Sales Tax

Comment: Chairman Mack and distinguished members,
The U.S.A. has another opportunity to correct a mistake made in the past. Our forefathers fought, bled, and died to establish true freedom, and it took only 100 years for it to be thrown away due to ignorance and class envy. It was rigorously discussed in the Federalist Papers that an indirect tax would be the only "fair" tax that would prevent the government from privacy invasion as well as progressively tax those citizens that had the ability to pay. The "FairTax" would be the most simple to implement, and the visibility of the tax would remind people regularly how much tax they are indeed paying. The 16th Amendment should be repealed for the same reason as the 13th Amendment was enacted. The FairTax would provide the income needed to run the government and relieve the economy of an enormous anchor. It's simply the right thing to do and the right time to do it.
