Subject: Fair Tax Not Fair for Me

Comment: My wife and I both have full-time jobs, and we have three children, a home (with a mortgage), pay a considerable amount of state, local and property taxes, go to church every week, and pay for child care. Under the "Fair Tax" I estimate that I would end up paying about $4-5,000 more in taxes every year. Why would anyone in their right mind want to pay that much more in taxes? Especially with energy prices already altering family budgets. My point is that no matter what proposals are made, Americans across this great country are going to ask, "How does this affect me?". I would venture to guess that in a completely educated population, the "Fair Tax" wouldn't even be on the table.
