Subject: Executive Order Ignored Comment: It is amazing to me that a President's Executive Order to form a Committee and for that Committee to report back proposals that encompass three specific requests could go utterly ignored by said Committee. The President stated in his order that the Purpose of the Committee was to (a) simplify Federal tax laws to reduce the costs and administrative burdens of compliance with such laws; [You have ignored this first Purpose completely, so I am not surprised that you failed to address the other two Purposes as well.] (b) share the burdens and benefits of the Federal tax structure in an appropriately progressive manner while recognizing the importance of homeownership and charity in American society; [While this request is straight out of the Marxist dogma that surrounds all of Washington these days, it confounds me as to why you would propose the exact opposite of "recognizing the importantance of home ownership" by proposing to create a tax increase for homeowners, thereby destroying the homebuilding industry - much the same as happened to the luxury boat industry when a tax on said boats was temporarily enacted.] and (c) promote long-run economic growth and job creation, and better encourage work effort, saving, and investment, so as to strengthen the competitiveness of the United States in the global marketplace. [Once again, a Presidential request you are apparently ignoring, if news accounts are to be believed.] The only solution to the unconstitutional quagmire known as IRC 26 (our current tax code) is to dump it completely. It is a system designed purely for social engineering and benefits only the power-starved politicians and the K-Street lobbyists. The FairTax as proposed by HR 25 / S25 is the only simple, effective, crony-free, revenue-neutral, honest plan out there. The claim from the Committee that such a plan would harm the poor is either an outright lie or one made from ignorance. Either way, it is time to get yourselves educated on this idea and let the President know it is the best deal for America, for Americans, and for American business - BY FAR and bar none. |
