Subject: Tax Cuts

Comment: I have pasted the remarks I seen on the internet below, the reason I have done so is in order for me to explain myself. First if you want to cut some of the tax benefits from the wealthy then do so without hurting the average worker. I have heard that even Bill Clinton asked why does he receive so many tax breaks and the average worker does not?

Second it's hard enough to make ends meet with the cost of fuel and no one doing anything about along with all the other cost rising our government needs to step up and make some sense to the average worker.

On a final note maybe and just maybe if all the members of congress received the same benefits as the average blue collar worker then they would finally realize that it's tough to own a home and make ends meet in today’s economy.

According to panel member James Michael Poterba, associate head of the economics department at MIT, the top 2.2 percent of tax returns claim 22 percent of the benefits from the mortgage-interest deduction, and disproportionately benefits those who itemize. In 2002, only 46 million taxpayers itemized out of 130 million tax returns that were filed.
