Could you please tell me how changing the mortgage deduction and capping the deduction that businesses pay for health insurance meet your following stated goals "to make it simpler, fairer, and more pro-growth to benefit all Americans"? Do you realize that this commission had the political opportunity of a lifetime to radically change a system that punishes hard workers/producers and by doing so could make life better for millions of Americans? And this is all you could come up with - two tax increases? You let your country down when it needs you the most. This commission is a total sham and you all should be ashamed of yourselves. |
