Subject: nonrecommendation of national sales tax

Comment: I would like to express my extreme discontent with your nonrecommendation of the national sales tax. Apparently your panel hasn't taken the time to read the book titled, "The Fairtax Book" which is backed by congressman Linder. The current code needs to be scrapped. It is way too complicated. One should not have to hire an accountant to do his/her taxes, among dozens of other reasons to go with The Fairtax. If your worried about all these accountants losing there jobs, forget it, thousands of new jobs will be created once all the waste is eliminated. As for tax evasion, not sure how you came up with this one. How do you figure this will happen if this tax is paid up front on all retail items? Once again, read the book. Not to mention the fact that the IRS will be eliminated, and American citizens won't live in fear of an audit, not because they are cheaters but because of the productive time lost to do it. One study done indicates that NO TWO tax experts can even come up with the same final numbers on a tax return! What a joke! This is reason alone to scrap the current system! Even the IRS employess all give you different answers when you ask a question to 2 different "agents". Then if someone does takes their advice and it's wrong, who gets screwed? You guessed it, the taxpayor. Get with the program and recommend the Fairtax. It's what the people want. It doesn't matter what you want. I will say again, read the book. Don't turn your job into a puppet charade. Below is a link so you can buy the book.
