Subject: Federal Sales Tax

Comment: There are many reasons that I support the proposed HR25 (fairtax) proposal, but I'll keep this brief and attempt to mention some things that others may have failed to think about. I feel sure that contributions given to churches and charitable organizations will dramatically increase when the people start "seeing" their total income and figuring their contributions on their entire check instead of their take home after taxes are withheld.

That’s just one of many reasons to think about supporting this move. Another is that even drug dealers, bank robbers and prostitutes will have to pay taxes, if they ever buy anything, which they enjoy doing just like the rest of us. Why else would they, or I, work.

But the best reason is that the IRS will not exist and April 15th will be just another day. All taxes paid on April 15th will be voluntary as someone decides to go out and buy something new.

Give America the ability to compete again with the world's markets. Please take a good look at the consumption tax system.

I appreciate your work on this crucial turning point in the stability of this Great Country.
