Subject: tax reform Comment: I encourage this panel to consider a national sales tax to replace the income tax for several reasons. 1.It would gain revenue from those involved with illegal activites,drugs,illegal workers etc. 2. It would encourage savings by not taxing earnings on savings and investment accounts. 3.It would go a long way in solving the money problem with social security by having the entire population as the basis and not just those workers. Those are just three reasons.The simplifing of filing(there would be none!) would be enought in it self. The FairTax organization seems to have thought this out and would seem to be a good base to start from. |
