Comment: To the Advisory Panel,

My name is Ed Stein and would like to express my views concerning Federal Tax Reform.

There are many reasons I like H.R.25/S.25, the Fair Tax Bill.

Being a laid off manufacturing employee I understand why businesses move their plants out of the country. One of the reasons is that the companies aren’t taxed nearly as much in other countries. They have no Property tax, no Payroll Tax, and no School tax, ECT, to pay. The Fair Tax would lift these burdens off of the companies and maybe bring back some of the jobs back.

Second reason I like the Fair Tax is it doesn’t matter how much money you make it is fair to all wage groups. If you have a lot of money and like to spend it you pay more tax than someone that isn’t as well off and have less to pay taxes with. No class discrimination.

Third reason is, illegal aliens, drug smugglers, Ect, would pay their fair share every time they bought something new.

Forth reason, by eliminating all of the tax burdens off of the companies, the companies would be more willing and able to hire new employees and maybe able to offer their employees some type of raise, health care plan, or 401k plan.

Fifth reason is it would get rid of the extremely expensive tax system and screwed up loopholes for the rich system that we currently have.

Sixth reason is Social Security and Medicare will be funded by the Fair Tax. That by itself would be worth it.

The old tax system is in need for an overhaul. The Fair Tax is the only way to go.

Thank you,

Ed Stein
