Subject: Health Insurance Taxation

Comment: Taxing these benefits will only increase the number of unisured. Not only that, but the costs of insurance and care are escalating at such high numbers the only consolation employees receive is the deduction. Taking dollars from one pocket and putting them into another only complicates and angers the general population who already dislike the amounts the IRS is taking. Government needs to understand business, you don't give someone a raise and then tell them they are going to have to pay more for their benefits. This is a great analogy to what is being proposed. We can lower the AMT but we are going to tax your insurance premiums. In the end if this passes you will actually hurt the general public. Health care costs are rising much faster than the amount of revenues the IRS receives from the AMT. At some point this will increase tax dollars taken in by the Government.
