Subject: Flat tax not a US fit

Comment: The US tax system is engrained into society and drives economics of US. For example a person buys a house because of the tax advantages in deducting interest & taxes. Person could not afford it otherwise.
What about the cost of conversion and education of a new flat tax. This cost would far out weigh any additional revenue generated.
The US system of politics and taxation is based upon special interest groups. No group is going to sit by & let its members or views can screwed or taken away. We would just have a new system adjusted for special interests again. This a democracy and can not be served by a dictatorical tax system. I equate it to a current tax provision of business meals. They are only 50% deductible, my point is they are either 100% deductible or not at all. Not some arbituary percentage.
