Subject: AMT vs Taxing Medical Insurance Comment: Dear Sirs, I am a Republican but will fight very hard against the idea of taxing employee benefit programs. The Health Care Delivery System is so broken now that dis-incenting health insurance coverage will only result in more uninsured poor people that the rest of us will have to pay the tab for. I have been penalized by the AMT on more than one occassion personally. Even still I think this is a bad idea. If the bottom line is that we need more revenue to cover the war on terrorism and to recover from Katrina, just tell the American people that's the case and ask for a increase in tax rates. That would be called Leadership. Hiding a tax increase in the fine print and having it hit those least able to afford it is called Politics. Are there any Leaders listening?
