Subject: Tax Reform

Comment: The current tax reform proposal is not an effective nor beneficial reform to small business and/or the Federal Government. In fact it is not reform at all. I have been an independent businessman for nearly 13 years now, experiencing up years and down years. As an example, 2004 was a good year. I was able to add nicely to my savings account over a 12 month period, and pay my quarterly taxes as needed. However as tax time rolled around, I found myself emptying my savings of $60, 000 and borrowing another $10,000 to square things with Uncle Sam. After estimated taxes. I was unable to pay myself at the end of the year by making a contribution to my reitirement plan. THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT PROVIDES NO INCENTIVE FOR THE SMALL BUSINESSMAN TO PRODUCE A HIGH INCOME. We may be able to live comfortably throughout the year, but without saving a penny. THE FAIR TAX (NOT THE FLAT TAX) IS THE ONLY TAX REFORM PROPOSAL BEING DISCUSSED, AND MUST BE TAKEN INTO CONSIDERATION. The Fair Tax is just that. It is fair to those producing income of various levels, and justly fair to the needs of the United States Government. I ask that you please get the Fair Tax Proposal above and on the table for immediate consideration. Visit fairtax.org for information, or petition at fairtaxvolunteer.org
