Subject: Fair Tax

Comment: I heard yesterday that you are leaning towards recommending in increase in taxes to "reform" the income tax.

By raising taxes on rich people, you drive them away from this company, which means that it will be harder for the average working person (like me) to make a living.

If most of the wealthy people in the United States of America move to another country to avoid our tax structure, then taxes on the rest of us will have to be raised.

I am much more in favor of the Fair Tax (as proposed by Congressman Linder, and written about in The FairTax book (a recent # 1 on the New York Times list.)

If the Fair Tax is passed into law, and replaces the income tax, the business climate in this country will be enhanced, which means my choice of employers will be better, and my wages will increase. This will cause me to spend more money, which will cause additional money to flow into the coffers of the government to use.

Sounds like a win-win situation to me.

Not to mention that companies will be coming to the USA instead of running away from us.

If you haven't yet read the book, I'm sure the publisher could get you a copy. (Or check with the White House, I think that President Bush is finished with his copy and could loan you his.)

Thank you for your consideration.
