Comment: Your latest statement (Oct 6), "America Needs a Better Tax System" was excellent and I think you understand what is wrong with our current system. I understand by charter you must submit one option that uses the current system, but it must be obvious that trying to "fix" the current system is fruitless. Many have tried and have only made it more complex.

I implore you to spend adequate time to develop a flat tax system that will phase in over time, without eliminating the current system. In other words, no conversion tables. New entrants to the system go to the flat tax, those in the current system have a choice for some time, but we are all eventually on the new flat tax system.

Don't fall into the trap of thinking you can "fix" what we have!
