To Whom It May Concern:

Just a quick note to express my opinion on the best way to reform the federal tax code...

In my opinion, there is only one choice – the Fair Tax, or national sales tax.

If this revenue-generation method were adopted, it would do at least two things:

1. Simplify the lives of every American who currently files income taxes... April 15th would be just another day and we wouldn’t waste countless hours attempting to wade through the IRS tax code.

2. Eliminate the various loopholes and special deductions and replace it with one simple principle – if you buy new goods or services, you pay a tax on it. If the item you purchase isn’t new, then there’s no sales tax – period!

Obviously, you need to ask the question “Will the Fair Tax generate enough revenue to keep the government running at its current level?”

Calculations from existing databases indicate the answer is a resounding “YES”.

Thanks for giving me the opportunity to express my opinion... Please give serious consideration to eliminating a tax on income and replacing it with a tax on expenditures.

Sincerely,
