Subject: simple tax code Comment: The tax code should be made simple. Every individual who earns money from any source{income,capital gains,dividends,etc.} should pay no tax on the first 20 or 30 thousand dollars and then pay a flat rate above that. No deductions should be allowed. The government will have to determine the amount of revenue it needs to run and set the tax free amount and the flat tax rate accordingly. It might also be wise to calculate in social security and medicare to make the whole system simple. A similar plan could be developed for business taxes as well. |
