Subject: A Proposal for the Reconstruction and Reform of the Federal Income Tax for Individuals

Comment: Dear Readers,

My proposal for tax reform may be accessed by clicking on the link for "LettertotheAdvisoryPanelonTaxReform.doc" in the May 11, 2005 posting that bears my name.

When I submitted the comment that was posted on May 11, I made the mistake of thinking that someone with some editorial sense was reviewing the comments before posting them. I certainly did not intend the subject of my posted comment to appear as "Why is my reform recommendation not posted?" or for my complaining comment to appear at all. I was hoping that someone would locate the document I had sent to the Panel's email address from my own email address on April 28, and that they would post it with its proper date attached. I'm still hoping that will be done, but apparently there is no one assigned to make such corrections.

I wonder how many, if any, of the Panel members will actually read many of the messages posted by individuals. I hope they have an intelligent "first reader" sorting out the naive rantings and shallow concepts from the solid proposals. From what I've seen so far of the 380-plus "specific proposals," most of them are so brief and undefined that they really should have been categorized as "general comments."

Anyway, dear reader, read my posting and consider it thoughtfully, and let me know what you think. I'll respond to every comment I receive. Check out my web site, www.simpletax.info, and send me an email from the site. Or read the posting to which I referred above and send me a message at hwalker@simpletax.info.
