Comment: I urge this panel to pass the FairTax Act now. After spending the last fifty years working and paying taxes, I have consistently become more disillusioned each year with the distribution of my tax dollars to every foreign illegal and legal immigrant that wanders into this country. I do not owe them a living, and I am sick and tired of supporting them with social services, health services and educational services. Enough is enough! Likewise, I am very tired of seeing my tax dollars being sent to foreign countries where the rulers frequently pocket the money for their own personal gain. For thanks, they teach their countrymen to hate all Americans! If we change to a federal consumption tax, I will be in control of how much taxes I am willing to pay! Also, all illegal, legal and visitors to this country will help support this great humanitarian U.S.A. It is well past time to help ourselves and not depend on the elected officials to treat the American workers fairly. After all, the elected officials only think about how to be re-elected, and not for the welfare of the American working man and woman. There is not one elected Congressman willing to put the people of this country before their own agenda. How very sad for this country that we do not have statesmen anymore! Donald O.
