Subject: Tax on Health Benefits

Comment: In an era of increasing health costs and decreasing coverage - the imposition of a tax on health benefits will result in more families with less or no coverage. The high rate of increases in health costs and coverage costs has not been offset by pay increases over the past 5 years. The looming increases in energy costs will force employees to choose between heating their house and medical coverage. The timing for such a change is not good. Without a total revision of the tax code, piecemeal changes will only perpetuate the problems of the past.
