Subject: Tax Reform

Comment: Dear Chairman and Panel members;

I would like to express strong support for what I believe is the only true tax reform proposal in front of you. It is effective, simple, fair, revenue neutral plan and economy energizing. I’m writing in favor of the FairTax Plan HR 25 /S25.

Unlike the present form of taxation, at 133 pages the FairTax is easily understood by all, and does not favor the wealthy, who can afford both the loopholes and the lobbyists/CPA's who provide them.

The FairTax removes tax liability for the poor via "prebates" and elimination of income taxes removed from every paycheck.

The Fairtax makes the cost of government very visible,making it easier for the average citizen to hols our elected officials accountable for raising taxes. Specifically, taxes would have to be raised on everyone; not the current conquer and divide method used to attack groups not big enough to have a voting impact.

The Fairtax is neutral so that the government has a consistent flow of funds. Additionally, the expected improvement in the economy should increase federal funds toward repayment of the federal debt.

On top of all that the FairTax Plan is proving to be quite a popular idea from my grassroots perspective.

Thank you for your consideration.

Sincerely
William Bernard
