Comment: I am suggesting that the U.S. have a value added tax exempting food and charitable donations. Practically all of Europe has had a value added tax for years and it seems to work for them. I realize that such a move would do away with the IRS but to me that is an advantage. Many of the employees of the IRS could be used to check the returns from the businesses.
