Subject: Rejection of National Sales Tax Comment: I am extremely disappointed in the Panel's dismissal of the idea of a National retail sales tax. The concept has been developed to such an extent that it at least deserves additional consideration rather than outright rejection. The mechanisms and technology to handle a National retail sales tax are either already in place or are available. To continue playing around with the current onerous, ponderous system is not acceptable. As a tax CPA, I believe it is time to start scrapping the Internal Revenue Code and moving to a National retail sales tax. |
