Subject: Charitable groups benefit too

Comment: Dear Sirs:

For 25 years I have been working to help children understand personal responsibility and accountability so they can flourish and prosper in life.

As a 501 c 3 nonprofit - organization the organization I work for finds efforts cut short by the amount of extra dollars raised have to be paid to match the funds withdrawn from staff pay for income taxation and other deductions. This prevents being able to hire more staff and it costs lots of money to prepare audited financial statements and reports that must comply with IRS rulings. Senior citizens are not willing to work long hours as volunteers and most young people are too busy working to keep up with inflation to do volunteer work. Children are sent to After School Programs by parents working extra hours.

Aside from my work – mostly as a volunteer these days – it is upsetting to learn that I am prevented from earning all I can to have a good living, not a rich one, just a good one, because my social security will be taxed if I do. After paying social security for a lifetime of work Senior Citizens are get taxed on that too because they end up working to make ends meet due to inflation. This is not how our founding fathers planned it or intended things to work out. America was founded as the greatest free country on earth by a group of pilgrims that left their home country due to excessive taxation.

Please take a really good look at the only fair taxation approach – a consumption tax. That way every body pays based on what they spend. That will include drug pushers and robbers and thieves who pay nothing now as income tax or otherwise.
