Subject: Reaction to 10/11/05 statement Comment: I find it very disturbing and reprehensible that a panel given the task of revamping and updating our tax code by a mandate not only from the president but from the people of the United States of America is failing so miserably. It is the common consensus by most Americans that the tax code is fundamentally flawed and in desperate need of overhaul. But the panel has diligently researched the problem for 10 months and has decided that the president and the American people are WRONG. We do not need a simpler tax plan. The panel decides that tweaking the plan we have is the solution! With revolutionary thinkers in this country who have devised plans like the flat tax and the fair tax it is ridiculous that these plans are brushed aside in favor of a cumbersome and unfair status quo. we looked to this panel with hope that bureaucracy would not prevail and that leaders would emerge. Instead we get politics as usual. You disappoint us. |
